About the Role

NovaSklo is seeking an ESG Officer to lead the design, implementation, and ongoing development of the ESG framework for a large-scale industrial greenfield project (float glass plant), in line with international standards and the requirements of development finance institutions (IFC, World Bank Group, EBRD, etc.).

This role is critical to the project’s investment attractiveness, long-term business sustainability, and compliance with international best practices.

Key Responsibilities

1. ESG & Sustainability

·   Develop and implement the company’s ESG strategy

·   Integrate ESG principles into business processes, operating models, and investment decision-making

·   Coordinate ESG initiatives across the development, construction, and operational phases of the plant

2. Compliance with International Standards

·   Ensure compliance with:

·   IFC Performance Standards

·   World Bank Group EHS Guidelines

·   National and EU environmental and social legislation

·   Prepare the company for ESG audits and investor/lender due diligence processes

3. Environmental Pillar

·   Manage environmental risks related to emissions, water, waste, and energy efficiency

·   Contribute to the implementation of EPD, LCA, and decarbonization approaches

·   Monitor environmental performance indicators and ESG KPIs

4. Social Pillar

Develop and oversee policies on occupational health and safety, labor standards, and human rights

Engage with local communities and key stakeholders

Participate in the development of the Stakeholder Engagement Plan and grievance mechanisms

5. Governance

·   Develop and implement ESG policies, codes, and internal procedures

·   Support transparency and best practices in corporate governance

·   Collaborate with legal and finance teams on ESG-related risks

6. Reporting & Communications

Prepare ESG reports for investors, banks, and partners

Coordinate ESG data collection and internal analytics

Participate in communications with international financial institutions

Candidate Requirements

Must-have

·   3–7 years of experience in ESG, sustainability, EHS, impact, or related fields

·   Hands-on experience with international standards (IFC, World Bank, EBRD experience is an advantage)

·   Strong understanding of industrial and manufacturing projects (construction, energy, heavy industry)

·   Experience in ESG reporting, policy development, and audits

·   English proficiency at Upper-Intermediate level or higher

Nice-to-have

·   Experience with greenfield projects

·   Exposure to international financial institutions

·   Knowledge of LCA, EPD, and decarbonization tools

·   Experience with ESG due diligence or lending processes
